I Just Wanna Stay at the Top of the Food Chain

Okay, I have to apologize for my absence the past couple days. Crazy busy over here in Cassie World, but I have responded to all you lovely people who came and stopped by and I'm hoping to be a better commenter throughout the rest of the month!

Alrighty, doing my fears this month, in case you missed day one.

Day 19: Sarlacc

Rate on the scary scale from 1-10: 6

Now, for those of you who aren't up on your Star Wars knowledge, a Sarlacc is this creepy sand creature thingy that lives in the ground...

I love pretty much everything Star Wars. It was one of the things that brought me and hubs together, but this lovely Sarlacc gave me major nightmares as a child, and then when they rebooted the DVDs, they made the thing even creepier!

That and I'm just afraid of anything that can eat me. And it ate Boba Fett like he was just the appetizer. *shivers*

  1. We just watched Return of the Jedi this past weekend! And honestly, I think I"m more afraid of Jabba eating me. Eew.

  2. "That and I'm just afraid of anything that can eat me." This sounds perfectly reasonable to me. It's the same reason why I avoid bears, mountain lions, and mosquitoes. I don't like anything that can bring about a surprising death. If I'm going to die, I'd like time to at least make an attempt at avoiding it. I don't think you get that chance with a Sarlacc.

  3. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

  4. I agree, I'd rather not be eaten either.

  5. Then I take it Tremors is not one of your favorite movies?

  6. So I'm guessing you're not going to the desert anytime for vacation.

  7. Ilima: Jabba didn't scare me actually. I want to cuddle with him, lol. Is that weird??

Suzi: Nope, though where I live becomes a desert in the summer.

  8. haha I love this! I'm a total Star Wars nerd too. :)

I think I would have to put my rating for this at a 9. Last I checked, after that thing swallows you, you live in it for years just writhing in agony.

Yuck. I'd much rather let Darth Vader chop me in half with a lightsaber. :)

  9. Vicki: I ditto that. Not only would that be quicker, it's a bit awesome too.

  10. Yeah I don't blame you for this fear. Anything like that creeping around especially underground should rate pretty high!

  11. hope Boba Fett wasn't a fatty food for sarlacc!

  12. Why do I not remember this part???

  13. I always thought the Sarlacc was cute. But then, I think that way about a lot of strange creatures, most of who can kill you like *snap* that.

Now Jabba ... he was creepy.
    Stalker creepy.

Not so bad in The Phantom Menace though.

  14. I had nightmares about Sarlacc as well! It was a 10/10 for me when I was a child.

  15. Yep, that thing's scary all right. If I had watched Star Wars as a kid, it would've plagued my nightmares.

  16. Marta: That whole Episode VI had a whole bunch of stuff that scared me. :)

  17. Being eaten alive is definitely at the top of my things not to do list!

  18. You know, you think he is going in a bad way when he falls, but then you remember that he is going to be very slowly digested and it just makes it miserable.

  19. Well, then, you should definitely be involved in Briane Pagel's Star Wars trivia thing that's going on, and you should tell him I sent you.

  20. The Sarlacc is definitely creepy. Another imaginary reason for me to avoid the desert. Which I've never been to might I add. Can you imagine if this thing came to earth's beaches? *Shivers*

  21. Wow, nightmares, huh? I'm always a sucker for Star Wars but I don't think I ever found anything scary about it. Only one t hing could give me nighhtmares as a kid and that was werewolves. Growing up in the 80s they were everywhere too... it was werewolf mania! And I'd sleep with my light on every nite cuz I just knew they were coming for me. lol ANd of course it didn't stop me from watching more werewolf movies cuz that would've been going way to easy on myself. ;)

  25. Good thing they're just in a movie.

  26. Madly in love with Star Wars as well, and I knew we could be blog friends the second I saw the Sarlacc pic! :)

ROTJ offered two of my all time favorite Star Wars monsters. Sarlacc and the rancor in Jaba's basement. Totally freaked me out as a kid too, but so awesome.

Really nice to meet you, and appreciate the comment you left on my blog. Looking forward to more Star Wars chit chat.

  27. I actually thought the sarlacc looked a lot scarier before they "fixed" things in the movies. Right now, I just wonder what all those teeth are doing in the sand. I mean, come on! It's going to eat its own face!

  28. Makes me wonder how many sarlaccs there are on that planet.

  29. FYI: Boba Fett survived. Horribly scarred, but alive because of his Mandalorian Armor. Just saying.

  31. I hated the Sarlacc, but I was even more creeped out by the Rancor because it could pursue. I love me the Star Wars, too. Original trilogy, though. :)

  32. Sheena: Oh yikes! Like a deformed clam or something taking over the beach!

PK: Did you get scared watching Teen Wolf? LOL.

Anna: You don't remember Boba Fett's death? Yes! Go watch it again!

Tara: Now you know and you can sound cool for all your nerdy friends! :D

Jackie: I chalk knowing that one up to Star Wars Trivia with the hubs. Apparently I'm training to be a better Jedi and he's training to be a better wizard.

Emily: Oh gosh, I never thought about that.

Kate: Love that game! We've got the DVD one so we'll just stick it in and answer questions when we get bored, lol.

Melissa: The Rancor totally freaked me out too. I used to fast forward through that part.
